Information on Living with Arthirits

About Arthritis

The word arthritis is used to describe pain, swelling and stiffness in a joint or joints. Arthritis isn’t a single condition and there are several different types.

Around 10 million people in the UK are thought to have arthritis. It can affect people of all ages – even children and teenagers, then other forms of arthritis are more common in older people.

When living with Arthritis it's common to have stiff and painful joints in the morning, making it difficult to get up and start the day. Everyday chores like cooking, laundry, cleaning, garden work and recreational activities can become a challenge.

The symptoms of arthritis can vary from week to week, and even from day to day. Many types, such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, are long-term conditions. However, with the right treatment, aids and approach you can manage your symptoms.

Everyday tasks can be a challenge

Many people develop strategies to better manage daily activities over time. For example, when doing the laundry, you don't necessarily need to hang up the entire load all at once.

Most people who have arthritis want to mainly manage on their own in everyday life despite having the condition, products designed to help with this can be incredibly beneficial, that's where Arthr comes in.
